I DO NOT suggest purchasing a glider capo. It's a great concept, but functionality wise it's no good. Mine worked alright for the first couple months, after which I get a lot of string buzz/dampening on my high E string. As suggested in the little owners manuel that came with it, I took it off when storing the guitar...now the side that opens up doesn't want to even stay on the capo. Falls off every time I take it off. In short it just wasn't worth the $25 I paid for it. Stick to the regular clamp style capos.

I just want to say...I own a glider capo and a good ol' fashioned kyser capo. (was great with e and a chords especially) and would sometimes use two capos

as for the usefullness of the short capo, i used to capo everything but the low e string at the second fret for a sort of drop d type sound without changing tuning.
